Craig Conyer is 29 years old and is married to Katie... They live in Jamestown, Indiana
He runs the #31c modified with a Bob Pierce Chassi and a JCE engine...
Craig considers no track his home..... he is a travelin man..... He did say that his favorite track is that of T.H.A.T. ......
The reason behind his car number........... it was his baseball number in highschool...
Craig has raced it seems all his life..... he started out with the BMX at age four...
He started racing in the street stock division in 1997 and has been racing a modified for the last six years...
He told me he got involved with racing because of an Uncle who raced.........Uncle Rich Carneal...
Driver that he most admires is.........TONY STEWART
He told me to be a good race car driver you have to have patience .... and..... have a good team working with you...
The guys I interviewed this weekend must race each other alot ...because almost everyone of them said when asked who their toughest competitor was they answered..... too many to name... and Craig answered with ALL OF THEM.............. these guys have a lot of respect for each others talent....
When asked if anything needed to be changed in racing..... he said the COST....... the cost of the fuel just to pull the car to the track is now another factor to the ever growing cost factor of a racecar driver....
Craig told me that the racing highlight that stood out for him was winning two track championships at Lincoln Park.... 2003 and 2004....
Craig like to run the high groove but with the car change is running the low groove...and he likes to run on a dry slick track...
He says there is no chief in his pit crew... it is a Team... which consists of Ryan Conyer, his brother; Dustin Wilburn and Josh Hoskins..
He wanted to give a Big thanks to his wife for her support....
and when I say this.... I mean H-U-G-E thanks to his wife....
When he told me this he looked at his wife with a big smile and then told me a story..... He told me he had a name for his engine..... It is called KATIE'S KITCHEN".......
Katie was in line for a new remodeled kitchen.........and guess what...... hubby needed an engine....so Katie is the kind of wife who goes above and beyond for her guy........ She supports him all the way in his desire to race........... I think that is great Katie..........

And to Ryan.... thankyou for helping me figure out my friends camera.....
