It was really great getting to meet both Jeff and his wife Pam at KLMS this weekend..... I have been watching Jeff race for four years now ... glad I finally got the opportunity to meet him.........

Jeff Leka is 40 years old and lives in Buffalo, Illinois .. He is married to Pam and they have three children : Jennifer, Jeffrey and Justin....AND.... they just became grandparents this week to a grandaughter "Kaylee"..... What young grandpartents !!! congratulations !!!!

Jeff runs the #3L with a Dirt Works chassi and a Hovis engine.
Jeff considers Farmer City to be his home track..
His favorite track is the Springfield Mile......***that is a wicked track... would love to see you race there some day...

He told me that he started racing in the sportsman division at the age of 16 ..
He started racing a modified in 1992........***.and quite well might I add...

He told me that his family was his inspiriation for racing... his wife supports him 110% ....

He told me that the driver he most admired was Dale Earnhardt

I asked Jeff what he thought it took to be a good driver and he told me it takes A LOT OF HARD WORK ! !!!! and added PATIENCE..

When asked what his long term goal was he told me he was already doing it... just having fun.....

He told me that his toughest competitor over the years has been Denny Schwartz..

I asked Jeff if there was anything in racing that he would like to see changed... He looked at me and laughed.. he said, "you don't even want to get me started on that!!!: He did tell me that he thought the UMP points system certainly needed worked on and was glad to see that they have started making some changes...

Highlights that stand out for Jeff was winning at the Springfield Mile and being the 1999 Winston Racing Series National Champ.........***WOW JEFF !!!! That is very impressive....

Jeff likes to race the High Groove and he likes a dry slick track..

His crew chief is Dave Rhoades and John Chase... Team members are Chris, Bill, Doc, Justin and Jeff..

When asked if he had anyone he would like to thank.... He told me everyone who has helped him out along the way.....

Thankyou so much Jeff and Pam for taking time out to talk with me.. I had a great time ........and so much appreciate you giving me a Jeff Leka shirt........and I WILL WEAR IT...... I am very proud of it !!!
Hope I run into the two of you again........and I am sure I will..........

These two little guys are huge fans of Jeff Leka....Pam said that both boys sponsored Jeffs car this year handing him seperately their money they had saved.........instead of just putting their names on the car Jeff and Pam had a decal of the boys put on the car........
What fans you are GAVIN AND JACOB

Eldora UMP Nationals
Oct 3 and 4, 2008

Jeff Leka is the 2008 UMP Champion...

he had bad luck at Eldora this year blowing an engine in hot laps...Denny Schwartz loaned him his car and in qualifying the rear end went out of it...they put the rear end of the #3L car in the #21s car of Schwartz...
He got a provisional and had to pull out of the feature before completed...
but........he had an awesome year ......
