I have been wanting to get an interview with Mark Persinger for quite a while... I pass him setting up in the bleachers with his friends all the time...

Mark Persinger is 40 years old.......today....June 10th happened to be him and his twin brother Dennis's birthday.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUYS!!!!
Mark is from the Flora area and runs the #7 Hornet... It is a Ford Probe
Mark told me that he started racing four years ago ..He said that when they started the Hornet Class at Clay County he decided it was something that he would like to try.... He told me that he really enjoys it....... Mark has such a carefree attitude about racing.... you can tell that he does just thoroughly enjoys getting out there and racing whether he wins or not....
When I asked him what he thought it took to be a good driver he told me being consistent..
He told me that his long term goal would be to win the Track Championship at Flora,
He said that one of his toughest competitors is Heath Sharp...#27
I asked him if there was anything in racing he felt needed to be changed and he told me no..he was satisified with how things are..
His accomplishments so far are in his first year he finished 4th in points, 2nd year he finished 3rd, last year he finished 2nd.........so could this be the year for Mark??? Sure hope so...
Mark is his own Crew Chief and his own pit crew.... He said his brother Dennis helps when he can...
Mark...really nice talking with ya... finally got that interview... I got the picture of you in your car going on the track... I will be by to get a picture of you with your car...
