--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was lucky enough to catch Denny Schwartz for an interview this year at Eldora.... thanks so much Denny..
Denny runs the 21s modifed with a Pierce Chassis and a AMS Motor...
Denny is 43 years old and is from Ashmore, Illinois.. He races Charleston alot but you can find him at most all the big races..
He told me that he had been around racing from about the age of five...He said that his father Jimmy had been a race car driver also.. Jimmy raced at Charleston also..
Denny told me that his dad is what had inspired him to start racing...
People who has most influenced him along the way has been Bob Pierce and Sonny Trosper...
When I asked him what it took to be a good driver he told me that it took a lot of consentration...He told me if I talked with his wife she would tell me that he lives, eats and breathes racing.... (and I do believe that..you can see he is very dedicated)..
I asked what his long term goal would be... he thought for a minute and said that he would love to be able to be in the World 100 and win it...then said he would like to win the U.M.P. Points one time...
I asked him who his toughest competitor was and he told me "his son, Danny"..
I asked if there would be anything about his career he would change if he could and he told me not really....that he was pretty satisfied...
The one thing that he has done in his career that stands out the most to him was winning the Super Nationals in 1989.
His most recent accomplishments has been winning the big event this year in Florence Kentucy and winning the Richardson Memorial..
He told me he would like to tell his wife Kim thankyou for all her support and his mom Shirley and dad Jimmy and also Bud Price... said he has a lot of family support and very much appreciates it..
His crew chief is Bud Price and his crew consists of Bud, David, and Pete.
