Jeff Sanford is 37 years old and lives in Gifford, Illinois with his wife Angela and kids Cortney and Jenna

He runs the #74j modified with a Pierce chassi and a Heddrick engine

I asked if there was a special reason for his number 74.........he told me that it was his brother Jeremiah Wilson's number when he raced.... Sadly... Jeremiah was killed two years ago when he was hit by a semi....... "so very very sorry Jeff".........

Jeff claims Vermillion County Speedway in Danville as his hometrack.... His favorite track to run is Clay County Speedway in Flora, Illinois...

His racing career started six years ago in the sportsman division... He moved to the modified division four years ago...

I asked Jeff what had inspired him to start racing... He told me it was just in his blood... loves it... said he had been going to races since he was ten years old...

The driver he most admires is DENNIS ERB
When asked who his toughest competitior was he told me everybody...."including himself".....

To be a good driver he says you need patience....and he said you need money to get good equipment....

When asked if there was anything in racing that needed changing .............He said the cost..needs to be cheaper....said the cost is out of control...

When asked if he liked the high or the low groove he told me it depended....He said recently he has been up against the wall but before he stayed to the infield to stay out of the way....
He said he likes to race on a tacky track.... said the horsepower is to his advantage on a tacky track....

He is his own Crew Chief..
His wife is his only Crew Member... Does all she can to help him out...

He wanted to give Richie Heddrick a big "thankyou"....Says he helps him more then anyone and he appreciates it very much...
