Donovan Lodge is 38 years old and lives in Moline, Illinois
He runs the #32 modified with a Kraft chassi and a Gustoff Engine
The #32 was the number that his dad used when he raced..
Donovan claims the track at Quincy, Illinois as his hometrack but he travels alot...
His favorite track to run is Tri City, Pontoon Beach, Illinois
He started racing at age 17 in a street stock and went into a modified in year 1999..
When asked what his inspiration was to start racing he told me his dad Larry.... then he laughed and said that he was kinda made to race...
The driver he most admired was his dad Larry and he said also Willie Kraft who ran the #83.... Willie is the builder of his car...
The driver he deems his toughest competitor is Kevin Weaver but added that any driver can be tough on any given night...
He said that to be a good driver you need to have patience...
When I asked what his goal in racing was he told me he was already doing it.... Said all he wants is to keep learning and to keep getting better...
When I asked Donovan if there was anything in racing he would like to see changed or made better he told me he was pretty much satisfied.... but ..said he would like to see more UMP dirt tracks in the Quad City area...... his closest track to him is two and a half hours away...
A racing highlight for Donovan was two years ago when he won a $2500 to win race at Quincy, Illinois.... and he beat Kevin Weaver to do it....
Donovan likes to race the low groove on a dry slick track...
He says his mom Priscilla is his Crew Chief and his dad Larry is his Crew Member...
He wanted to give a big thanks to Car Shop and to Gustoff Engines..........and to his mom and dad Priscilla and Larry...
