Geez.... rain rain rain rain............... this is two nights in a row that we have been rained out...
After friday night we were really debating strongly on whether to try it again or not..but.... hard to stay away.. would have been really upset if we had stayed home and then they got to race.....sooooooooooo we headed out about four oclock............and might I add in pouring down rain....... but.... it was suppose to not be raining at the track..... not sure how far we were when we finally ran out of the rain.....but I know it was almost to the track...
they said they had only got sprinkles off and on and it did look a little lighter in the west....(maybe that was wishfull thinking)...
As we were going into the entrance of the grandstands we were stopped and asked if we had any drinks with us..I was reading the sign and I thought it said NO GLASS BOTTLES and NO COOLERS..... I had no glass bottles nor did I have a cooler.... I must have looked like a convict because she searched my bag ... I had my sweat shirt and my clip board etc..........and... oh yes... there was a 99 cent bottle of water in my bag that I carry with me everywhere.... I get choked very easily and dirt will do that to me.... I explained that to her and she said we sell water and took my water........ FINE......!!!!! but.... as I was sitting in the grandstands I saw other people walking in with drinks in their bag that was openly showing... I asked the one person if they had their bag searched and they said nope...they just walked in with it..... needless to say..... I was being stubborn I know..but I did not buy anything to drink or eat that night..........now..... I CANT SAY THAT FOR MY HUSBAND who they make plenty of money off of.... and he did bring me a pretziel which I begrudginly ate.... lol.....
Well anyways...................Soon our friends Gennie and Nicole Bare joined us.............and mind u..their bags had not been checked....
And I got a pleasant surprise when PAM LEKA came up to say hello... has been a while since we ran into one another.....she stayed and watched the heats with me and then headed to the pit area.... chance of rain seemed pretty strong....she said she would be back for semi's if the rain held off....IT DIDN'T...
They had 46 modifieds there for the MERICAN MODIFIED SERIES.... the top two in points RANDLE SWEENEY AND MICHAEL HARRISON was not there....so there would have been a chance for a new leader if it had not been cancelled...
They did the two group qualifying....
In group one GREG JOHNSON was fastest with 14.546.... CHAD KINDER was second with 14.841...LEVI KISSINGER WAS third with 14.926....GABE MENZER WAS fourth with 14.967
In group two fastest was JOSH FERGUSON with 14.711...ROGER CARY with 14.871 was second, third was JEFF LEKA with 14.871...fourth was CLINT DEMOSS with 14.967 and DEVIL GILPIN with 14.995 was fifth...
Heat one you had Greg Johnson and Levi Kissinger on front row, 2nd row was Denny Schwartz and John Demoss; 3rd row was Penny and the #101, 4th row was Ryan Thomas and David McWilliams; 5th row #43 and Rollins; last row was ?Obermyer and Greg Short...
The flagman did not like the start and penalized GREG JOHNSON for jumping the gun...sent him back a spot putting DENNY SCHWARTZ on the front row...... the #91 of Rollins pulled off the track before double line restart...really good hard racing between the #1 of Johnson and the #8 of Kissinger...they were fighting hard for that second place.... Johnson won the spot and then the #129 of Penny slipped past Levi FINISH:

Heat two you had CHAD KINDER and GABE MENZER on front row, 2nd row was #20 and BRIAN BARBER ; 3rd row DANNY SCHWARTZ AND LARRY LAMBERT; 4th row RANSOM and HENDERSON; 5th row ROB FUQUA and #74J; 6th row DILLON
a caution came our for a spin out in in turn two...double restart... CHAD KINDER got out to the lead and stayed there til the finish... GABE MENZER held off BARBER and SCHWARTZ to take second ...FINISH:

Heat three you had ROB FUQUA and JEFF LEKA ON FRONT ROW, 2nd row was DEVIN GILPIN and BRIAN SHAW; 3rd row was CHAD OSTERHOFF and #59 MILLER; 4th row was RYAN SHUMAN and DON KIGER; 5th row was BALDWIN and BYERLINE; 6th row was GREEN..
Gilpin and Jeff Leka were going at it hot and heavy with Gilpin winning out for first place....FINISH:
