Lincoln Speedway
Putnamville, Indiana
April 10, 2010

This was my first time at Putnamville.... and the first night of racing this season under the new management of Joe Spiker....

The track I have to say was really bad and I know that a few of the drivers pulled out of the race because of the bad conditions................but..................."been there ...seen that" before...... usually the first races of the season are like this ............tracks have sit all winter and with the wet spring we have had... makes sense..
I know there were some saying that the track had been over watered...
I really liked the facilities there.... I think the food was a little pricey... unlike the reasonable prices at Danville...

Went up and talked with Tina Cramer, Jesse Cramer's mom (#12t sprint driver)...Was nice to see her again..
while talking with her Joe Jeffries came by to say hello...the former announcer for Danville... was nice to see him as well.....

There were quite a few people in the stands for a cool spring night... it started out 72% but once that sun went down the temp sure did drop.... when the racing started we forgot how cool it was... lol....

There were 4 heats in the sprints...4 to feature....
Heat one was won by the #1x of Curt Rose?...#1c Christian, #35 Babcock and #3.......Jesse Cramer missed it by one...

Heat two was won by #57 of Messeral......#22 Scottie Weir, #10 Fitzpatrick and #17r Robbins

Heat three was won by #20 Levi Jones;.....#53 Jon Stanbrough, #7 Cisco; and #56 Spencer....

Heat four #7: #7; #3 Jackson; and #3 Holscloth

...two b mains...taking two to feature

b main one the two advancing were #34 of Shane Hollingsworth and #12t of Jesse Cramer

b main two was #k35 of Marvel and the #14 of Eric Smith

In the feature the #22 of Scottie Weir got out in front and led it all the way up to the las two laps and the #20 of Levi Jones passed him for the win... Jon Stanbrough crossed over 3rd..... was a very exciting race.....
.............

There were three heats for the modifieds with five going to the feature and one consi with five going to feature..

In heat one the winner was #05 of Boylard..and making it to feature were #2h Brian Hayden; #22s Chad Kinder; #42 Gregory and #33r of Ricketts..
***after Chad coming out for the HEROS AND HOTDOGS QUALIFYING CHALLENGE.........and sounding like he was chopping wood when he pulled out........we were afraid he would not come out for the heat.... found out they changed the carburator and it did much better...
nine cars were to start this heat but the #166 of Shoulders never came out ..nor did #09 of Curl...

In heat two Carlos Bumgardner won with #51 of Brewer; #45 of Wes McClara; #54 Paul Bumgardner and #43a of Larry Anderson..

Heat three the winner was #31c Craig Conyer...(he never came out for the feature) then the #31 of Matt Bex; #09; #12s Ed Shamhart; and the #90 of Sterrett...

Five in the consi advance to feature:
1...#29 Bryant
2..#15j Jimmy Hayden
3..#77 Robinson
4..#37 Derrek Patton
5..#33r Ricketts...................
***the #77 had flipped his car in his heat and came out in consi ..........he lost the whole right side of his car during consi but he made his way up to qualify for the feature....
**it was announced that #31 of Craig Conyer was a scratch for the feature...this allowed the #43 of Gregory to move up to feature..

The feature.... what a feature !!!!
Track was very very rough.... was reported back that some drivers had pulled out.... Chad said the only place to race was on the inside and he said he was going to get low and stay there................HE DID JUST THAT..
front row was Boylard and Carlos Bumgardner...Brewer and B. Hayden was 2nd row and the Chad Kinder and Bex..Bradham and Shamhart was in 6th rowAnderson was outside 7th row and Patton was in last row...
The #34 of Carlos Bumgardner got out to an early lead and stayed there for quite a while.. there were several yellow flag cautions...... by end of race there were only nine cars left out of twenty....
Chad Kinder was patient...stuck to the inside row and started picking them off one by one.... was so exciting to watch... this was his second win this weekend winning at Brownstown, Il friday night..
Carlos led the first half of race,,,,then the #2h of Brian Hayden took over the reins.... then here come the Kinder machine with about two or three laps to go and took the win.... needless to say the Kinder fans were jumping up and down screaming !!!! Of course I am talking about other people... I would do that.... wacko.gif
1..CHAD KINDER #22S
2..Jimmy Hayden #2h
3..Carlos Bumgardner #34
4..Paul Bumgardner #54
5..Boylard #05
6..Brewer #51
7..Everett Bradham #1h
8..#42
9..Ricketts #33r

Was a fun night for the Team #22 and fans....great job Chad !!!! We are proud of you...
