I had this all typed out yesterday and when the storm came it shut me down and I lost it all.....so i will try again:
After driving in fog all night and early morning and with all the motels in Lawrenceburg being full we ended up in a motel 30 miles north ...we checked in at 7 a.m....we did not get up until one p.m. ..arrived at track around 4:30 and met up with the Bare's...
They sure have done a lot of impovements at the track..
The food was good there....especially the elephant ears..yum...
And the program ran very smoothly...
I did not know any of the sprint drivers so did not keep track of them...but... the winner of the feature was COLEMAN GULLICK.... he just turned sixteen a month ago and is from New York..........man..... did he ever put on a show... very exciting to watch...
There were four heats in the modifieds and one consi......they took four out of heats and consi to feature...20 car feature...
In heat one the line up was
#29K Mark Kowarsch..........#14x John Martin
#43 Denny Teagarden........##70f Jim Fliehman
#D48 Derek Groomer...........#D1 JD Largent
#s1 Shane McHenry...........#1G Devin Gilpin
a caution came out for a false start.................
on restart a caution comes out for the #14 of Teagarden and the #70f of Fliehman who connect in turn three.....the #70 goes off the track by wrecker....
another caution is thrown for yet another false start...this time for Groomer..he has to go to the tail...
Finish: Largent; Gilpin; Kowarsch; Groomer.../ Teegarden; Martin; McHenry;Fliehman
In heat two lineup:
#J1 Jason Largent..............#22s Chad Kinder
#32w Roger Williams...........#20x Josh Morton
#35 Doug Popp..................#09 Jeremy Buck
#23D Steve Duty...............#12F Greg Fields
this race went caution free from start to finish....
Chad Kinder had it going on ...he was flying.... led every lap.....
Finish: CHAD KINDER; Duty; Williams; Morton;....// Largent; Popp; Buck; Fields
Heat three line up
#7 Tony McVey.................#96 Sean Johnson
#97 justin westerfield..........#91 Mike Marischen
#11x Jim Szekacs...............#21j Joe Justice
dns: #7G Chuck Griffis
this also went caution free .. and the winner of this heat was rookie driver Sean Johnson........this was his first heat win as a mod driver...WAY TO GO...
Finish: Johnson; McVey; Westerfield;Marischen;...////Szekacs;Justice
Heat four line up
#32 Kyle Herbert................#29c John Chase
#3 Jeff Harris....................#55B Rick Bingham
#77 Joey Kramer................##9 Scottie Martin
dns #55 Denny Szekacs
also caution free...
Finish; Harris; Kramer; Martin;Herbert;.....///Bingham; Chase; Szekacs
consi ..top four to feature
Jason Largent; John Martin; John Chase; Jim Fliehman.....
line up for the modifieds .....
JD Largent................Chad Kinder
Johnson..................Harris
Gilpin......................Duty
McVey....................Kramer
Chase....................Herbert
Westerfield.............Martin
Groomer................Morton
Marischen..............Williams
Gilpin....................Martin
Kowarsch..............Fliehman
Chad Kinder shot out to the lead right from the start.....
a caution comes out when the #D1 of Largent spins Joey Kramer out..... they put JD to the back for rough driving and then also put Kramer to the tail for stopping on the track... Joey was not happy to say the least and I can't blame him..... Joey waited for Largent to come back around and he bumped into him and was having words...the official tried to get them seperated ... Largent tried to swerve into Joey and Joey swerved away and almost hit an official...... both drivers were black flagged and sent off the track to load up....
Chad was flying... he had a pretty good lead and was heading for lap traffic.... he passed the #29....he passed the #70....
the #14 started slowing up on the track and finally brought out a caution...
the #29k goes off the track.....
there is 11 laps to go...
running order for top ten: Kinder; Harris; Johnson; Gilpin; Groomer; Martin; Westerfield; Morton; Herbert; Williams...
on the restart the #1G of Gilpin gets sideways and boy did he get slammed by about 3 or 4 times very hard by the #20 of Morton, Chase and Williams.... all the drivers were okay....
9 laps down with 11 to go..
the #91 pulls off
the 22s of Kinder is still out in front with Harris, Johnson and Groomer in tow....
a caution comes out for the #29c of Chase who stops on the track..
on restart Kinder pulls out to lead once again with the track points leader Jeff Harris in second and then Johnson....
The #29 pulls off ............
Kinder made a misbobble up in turn four and the #3 of Jeff Harris got around him..before a lap was completed a caution came out for the #96 of Johnson putting Kinder back into the lead....
Kinder did not make same mistake twice pulling out to a marginal lead.... He stayed there to the finish..............WAY TO GO CHAD.....GREAT RACE !!!
