well... I will try this again.... had it done once and it came up error occured..........grrrrrrrr

I had made up my mind that I was going to try and deal with the heat and head to Clay County saturday night...but after having a garage sale during the day I was reconsidering.... it was 97 %.......
My daughter Amy and grandaughter Kayla is here for a visit and they were wanting to go... and I really wanted to go too.... I wanted to see my old friends and also pick up a Clay County Tee Shirt...

Well we headed for the track around 5:30... on the way we took short cut thru the country... we were going thru Bogota when I could not beleive my eyes.... there stood Don Kohl in front of his house..... I had to stop... it had been ages since I had seen him.... he was a team member of Kinder's but since getting married this year we hae not seen him around..... I told him how much we missed him but certainly was happy for him....

First thing I did when I got to the track was buy my CLAY COUNTY TEE SHIRT.... they are very sharp looking... I especially love mine... it has "cjsdirttrackracing.com on both the front and the back....
THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU MICHAEL.... this is the first time my site has been on a shirt..... lovin it....

We then went and sit up our seats.... I headed to the announcer's booth to see Jaylen Anne.... she is the beautiful daughter of Jerrica (Jones) the scorekeeper at CCS and the grandaughter of Jay Jone.... she is so cute.... Jerrica told me that Jaylen had a rough time making her entrance into the world... so glad that everything turned out ok... while giving birth Jerrica had an asthma attack which did not help... not a good experience with your first child birth...but as you look at the two of them together you can see Jerrica thinks it was all worth it.....

The #51 Bible fans were sitting in front of us.... Phil sure has a cute daughter and two very cute grandkids..... soon Phil came to the bleachers to see his family and I got the chance to get an interview with him..... Phil is a young 57.. said he started racing at age 51 and he really enjoys it... make sure you read his interview...

Rick Scott, the #25 hornet driver came up to say hello... I always enjoy it when the drivers will take time to come to the grandstand to say hello.... I very much appreciate it.... thankyou... Was nice talking with Rick...

It was getting close to racing time and it felt like the R word..... but... all we got was a little lightning off in the west and then...wow... a very welcomed change in the temperature... it felt like it dropped 20 degrees.... was wonderful and made the night a whole lot more enjoyable....

I like the way Jim Norton, the announcer for CCS, mingles with the crowd... He mentioned people by names and joked around with the fans... made them feel more connected to the events of the night.... keep it up Jim.....

There were not many cars tonight but the ones that were there are very loyal Clay County supporters and the track appreciates you very much....
We are in very rough times right now for all.... the tracks are suffering as well as the drivers and also the fans.... money is geting tight....
Clay County is having low car counts as well as low fan support... but....they sure are not alone....
At least two tracks that I have been to this year have closed their doors, drivers that I have watched over the years are selling out because it is getting to hard to stay above the red.... fans have stopped traveling as far to go racing and also go once a weekend where they may have went two or three nights week.... times are hard for all of us right now... it has to get better....
I just hope these smaller tacks can survive because if we lose them it hurts all of us.....

I had a good time at Clay County...but then.... I always do.... nice to see familiar faces....

There may have been a low car count but they gave us a show and entertained us.... thankyou very much....
Please keep supporting Clay County and the Burmeisters.....
I know personally that Michael is busting his butt to do what he can to keep this track going for his family, for his drivers and for us fans..... I thank YOU Michael.....
I learned that Michael is gonna be a daddy again.... him and his lovely wife will welcome a new little Burmeister this February.....they have a little boy so I am hoping they get a little girl...

I was suppose to meet with Michael after the races to talk with him about the everyday schedule of keeping a racetrack going but with the threat of a storm coming... I decided it was best I head home.... I am looking forward to talking with Michael... think what he has to tell us will shock a lot of people in just how much there is to getting ready for a race on the weekend.... soon Michael...
